Such a well written article, Danny! We absolutely have to do hard things. There is very little downside to discomfort in the modern world. Somehow, our nervous hasn't still adapted to that and it still prevents people from fear and pain. We need to be in constant state of discomfort. That's when we learn and grow.

Developing a health condition was that force for me. I refused to support Pharma at the cost of my health, so not only did I make massive shifts in what I consume and do in my daily life, but I also forged my own path to get to a healthier version of me. That experience changed me so much. Now, I don’t think there’s anything I cannot do. At the end of the day, it’s our behaviour that changes us. You’ll never feel ready to do anything. Doing it will make you want to do it more. Having a reason to why you need to do it also helps.

Great article! Love the title.

Having done a bit of ultra-running over the years, I continue to marvel at how much those long days out on the trail have taught me about myself. Choosing to do hard things like taking a cold shower is one thing, but choosing keep yourself in that uncomfortable place, because you know it's what you want, is even harder. And I thrive on that shit. Maybe it's masochism, maybe it's just stubbornness.
